Scope and approach

What you get

The type and location of the tank are determined by a design and the requirements for the property. Before digging, we check the distances to the house, wells and the property boundary, the groundwater level, and the type and permeability of the soil.

The tank is positioned so that the emptying tanker can reach the lid. Where a design and approvals are required, work starts once they are in place.

Technical detail: groundwater

With a high water table, an empty plastic tank can float up or be crushed. That is why it is anchored to a concrete slab and backfilled in layers while being filled with water at the same time.

  • We choose the location relative to the house, wells, the property boundary and access for the emptying tanker
  • We dig with a mini excavator and take away the surplus soil
  • We pour a concrete base slab and anchor the tank where the water table is high
  • We install a prefabricated tank or build a reinforced concrete tank to the design
  • We connect the sewer pipe from the house with a continuous fall, an inspection access and ventilation
  • We test for watertightness, backfill in layers and finish the lid above ground level
When to call us

From the problem to the solution

The most common situations people call us about, and how we approach them.

Common problems

  • The old tank leaks, overflows or smells
  • The emptying tanker cannot reach the lid
  • A plastic tank has lifted or deformed after backfilling
  • The pipe from the house does not have enough fall and often blocks
  • It is unclear which type of tank is allowed for the specific property

How we approach them

  • We propose a watertight solution in line with the design and the requirements instead of a permeable pit
  • We position the tank so that the lid is accessible to the tanker
  • We anchor the tank and backfill it in layers, as the manufacturer requires
  • We check the fall of the existing pipe and relay it if needed
  • We confirm the requirements and the design before excavation begins

A good fit when

  • When the house or holiday home is not connected to the sewer
  • When the house is being extended and the current tank is no longer big enough
  • When you are building a new house and the tank has to be planned together with the sewer pipework
  • When you want one contractor for the excavation, installation and connections

Process

How the work runs

We organise the work around the specifics of the city and the property, planning access, logistics and stages.

  1. We inspect the property, the location relative to the house and wells, and the access for machinery

  2. We determine the type and volume of the tank from the design and the requirements, and confirm the approvals needed

  3. We excavate, level the bottom and pour a base slab

  4. We install the tank or build it in place, and connect it to the house's sewer pipe

  5. We test for watertightness, backfill in layers and shape the ground around the lid

Price

What affects the price

The price depends on the type and volume of the tank, the soil and the access, and is set after a site visit to the property.

The final price is confirmed once the type of tank is chosen and the requirements for the property are clarified.

See the price list
  • The type of solution – a prefabricated tank or a reinforced concrete tank – determines the materials and the work
  • The volume of the tank is determined by the number of occupants and how the property is used
  • Groundwater and loose soil call for shoring, pumping or anchoring
  • The distance from the house determines the length of the sewer pipe
  • Access for a mini excavator and a dump truck affects the excavation and soil removal
  • The design and approval requirements for the specific property are reflected in the scope

Questions and answers

Septic tank installation in Pleven: questions and answers

It depends on the municipality's requirements and the site – proximity to wells, groundwater, soil type. We clarify them before digging, and where needed, the tank is built to a design.

A prefabricated tank is watertight from the factory and quicker to install. A reinforced concrete tank is built to a design and suits larger volumes or places where cars will drive over it.

The volume depends on the number of occupants, water consumption and how often you want it emptied. The specific volume is set in the design or at the site visit.

At the required distances from the house, wells and the property boundary, and so that the emptying tanker can reach the lid.

For the work carried out – excavation, base, installation, connections and backfill – you receive a written 2-year warranty. The prefabricated tank carries the manufacturer's warranty.

Book a site visit to the property and we will suggest a suitable type of tank and a location for it.

Before digging, we will confirm the distances, the groundwater and the design requirements.
