How warm and quiet it is around the window depends not only on the profile but also on the installation. The frame is fixed with anchors into the sound part of the wall, and the joint is filled with foam and protected with tapes inside and out.
In a renovation, the windows are replaced before skim coating and painting, because the reveals get damaged when the old ones are removed. We re-form the reveals, fit the interior window boards, and fit the external sills with a fall to the outside.
Technical detail: a three-layer installation joint
Foam insulates, but on its own it is not a seal. On the inside it is covered with vapour barrier tape, and on the outside with a tape that keeps rain out but lets vapour through, so the joint does not get damp.

Before plastering, skim coating and painting, because the reveals get damaged when the old windows are removed. That way they are finished once, together with the rest of the walls.
No. Foam insulates, but it has to be protected – on the inside with vapour barrier tape, and on the outside with tape and cladding against water and sun. Otherwise it loses its properties over the years.
New windows are airtight, so moisture from cooking, bathing and breathing no longer escapes through gaps. Regular ventilation is needed, and if there is condensation only on the reveals, we check the installation joint.
The profiles, glazing units and hardware carry the manufacturer's warranty. We are responsible for the installation – with a written 2-year warranty.
One window is usually replaced in a few hours, and a whole home in a day or two, depending on the number and size of the units. Finishing the reveals is a separate stage.
