Mini excavator services in Sofia

With a mini excavator we dig foundations, trenches for water pipes, sewer pipes and cables, and excavations for septic tanks and drainage, and we level yards. The machine works in places a large excavator cannot reach.

Scope and approach

What you get

Before digging, we locate underground pipes and cables from plans and on site, and around them we dig carefully or by hand. The depth and dimensions of foundations follow the structural design, and the bottom is finished by hand.

The excavated soil stays for backfilling or is loaded straight into a dump truck, so the yard does not turn into a storage area.

Technical detail: the bottom of a foundation trench

The excavator stops just above the design level, and the bottom is finished by hand. The bucket loosens the soil, and a foundation on loosened soil can settle unevenly.

  • We dig strip foundations for houses, extensions, fences and canopies to the dimensions in the design
  • We dig trenches for water pipes and electrical cables, and for sewer pipes and drainage with the required fall
  • We dig pits for septic tanks, manholes and underground tanks
  • We level the yard and form a slope that leads water away from the building
  • We load surplus soil straight into a dump truck or spread it on site
  • We backfill the trenches once the pipes and cables are laid, compacting in layers
When to call us

From the problem to the solution

The most common situations people call us about, and how we approach them.

Common problems

  • The entrance to the yard is narrow and a large machine cannot get in
  • No one knows exactly where the old pipes and cables run
  • There is nowhere on site to store the excavated soil
  • In a deeper excavation, the sides collapse or groundwater appears
  • The yard slopes towards the house and water collects by the foundations

How we approach them

  • At the site visit we check whether the machine fits through and, if needed, protect the paving along its path
  • We locate the routes from plans and on site and dig carefully near them
  • We book the dump truck for the day of the excavation, so the soil does not have to be stored
  • We give deeper excavations sloped sides or shore them up, and pump out water when needed
  • We reverse the slope of the ground so that water drains away from the building

A good fit when

  • When the excavation is too big for hand digging and a large excavator cannot get in
  • When you are building a fence, a canopy or an extension and foundations need to be dug
  • When you are running a water pipe, a sewer pipe or a cable to the house
  • When you want to level the yard and lead water away from the building

Process

How the work runs

We organise the work around the specifics of the city and the property, planning access, logistics and stages.

  1. We inspect the ground, the access for the machine, the soil type and where the soil will go

  2. We locate underground utilities and mark the route and the limits of the excavation

  3. We agree the day, transport of the machine and, if needed, a dump truck for the soil

  4. We dig while controlling depth and fall, and by hand next to pipes and cables

  5. We backfill or take away the soil and leave the area tidy

Price

What affects the price

Mini excavator work is priced by the volume and complexity of the excavation and the machine time, so the price is given after a site visit.

If the excavation uncovers rock, old foundations or groundwater, changes to the scope are agreed with you before we continue.

See the price list
  • The volume and depth of the excavation determine the machine time
  • Clay, gravel or rock are slower to dig than ordinary soil
  • Transporting the machine to the site depends on the distance
  • Underground utilities mean slower work and hand digging around them
  • Removing the soil by dump truck is added when it does not stay on site
  • Backfilling, compacting and levelling increase the scope

A written warranty

Every completed project receives a warranty certificate. This is what it covers and for how long.

2 years on all work
Construction, renovation and finishing work on the property.
6 years on plumbing, electrical and roofing work
Internal plumbing installations, electrical installations, roofing work and roof waterproofing — the areas where a hidden defect shows up late and costs the most.
Written certificate
Issued for every completed project, it sets out what is covered and for how long.

The extended term applies to the installations themselves and to the roofing work. Installed ready-made products — taps, fittings, appliances — carry the manufacturer's warranty.

Questions and answers

Mini excavator services in Sofia: questions and answers

It depends on the width of the entrance, the slope and the ground – we check this at the site visit. A mini excavator is suited precisely to places a large machine cannot get into.

Before digging, we locate the routes from plans, from what you tell us and on site. Near them we dig carefully, and immediately around them by hand.

Yes, to the dimensions and levels in the structural design. The last layer down to the design level is finished by hand, so the soil under the foundation is not loosened.

The part needed for backfilling stays on site, and the surplus is loaded straight into a dump truck and taken to an authorised site.

Light rain is not a problem, but on waterlogged ground the machine churns up the yard and excavations collapse. In that case the work is moved to a suitable day.

Book a site visit and we will check the access, the soil and the utilities before digging starts.

If the soil needs to be taken away, we also arrange a dump truck for it.
